The New England
Chapter of
The Explorers Club
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all"

--HELEN KELLER

CHAPTER MEMBER, DR. GOEFFRY CLARK, MN 88
is involved in an expedition that might be of interest.
In the interim between our chapter meetings, I thought you might be interested in an Explorers Club flag expedition to re-trace the route of the Lady Franklin Bay expedition of 1881 to 1884. Chapter member, Dr. Goeffrey Clark, MD, MN88 carried EC Flag # 25 on this journey.  He recently sent me an e-mail that introduced me to this well prepared website. Have a look and share his adventure. Below are some photos from the site.

"Cocked Hat Ventures was created to tell the story of Adolphus W. Greely and the Lady Franklin Bay expedition of 1881-1884, one of the most heroic but least known episodes in the history of American polar exploration."
