Next Scheduled Event

On Friday, April 19, Dr. Lawrence Millman, our estimable Vice-Chairman, will deliver a lecture at Boston University entitled Kusunsuaa Unsukkapiq: Translating the Inuit. Dr. Millman will discuss his various Arctic expeditions as well as his activities as a collector/translator of Inuit (Eskimo) myths. He will also talk about Inuktitut, the Inuit language, and its dialects. Place: 745 Commonwealth Avenue, Fifth Floor, Room 525. Time: 1:00PM. Access by "T": Take the Green Line to the Boston University Central stop.

On April 26 to 28, chapter member, Dr. David Mindell, FN2000, will chair the Second MIT Conference on Technology, Archeology and the Deep Sea.

Technological advances have made undersea archeology possible at much greater depths. We can now excavate sites up to 6,000 meters deep.  This conference explores the technology, methods and programs of deep sea archeology and presents the results of some recent expeditions.
